Editor’s Note: The following is a list of board, commission, and council meetings that are scheduled for the coming week in Humboldt County.
Arcata City Council
When: The regular meeting is held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Special meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Where: The meeting will be available via Access Humboldt channel 10 and the city’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJYGp9zDPdWMGtA0BtfFX_A.
• The board will meet in camera at a special meeting to discuss with union negotiators. The International Union of Operations Engineers, Local # 3, the Arcata Police Association and management / middle / confidential employees are listed as parties to the negotiation.
• Under its approval timeline, council may pass a resolution to support the banking of the North Coast Railroad Authority rail line from Willits to Humboldt Bay and oppose the transport of coal by the freight line. .
• The council will consider a resolution to remove the priority of the use, possession and cultivation of entheogens in the city for adults over 21 years of age. The local activist group Decriminalize Nature Humboldt has raised the issue in previous meetings.

Eureka City Council
When: First and third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.
Where: The meeting will be available through Cable Channel 10 and the city’s website at http://www.ci.eureka.ca.gov/.
• Under its consent agenda, council can pass a resolution to create a no-parking zone on sections of Railroad Avenue between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., except for commercial vehicles.
• The council will consider adopting a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, requiring all city staff to be vaccinated against this virus.
• Council is expected to receive a report on the electoral district redistribution and 2020 census data.

Fortuna City Council
When: First and third Monday of each month at 6 p.m.

• Council will consider allowing the City Manager to sign an amendment to the existing agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for the use of the firehouse during a natural disaster. The move would refer to the use of the firehouse and the general surrounding area to help the public access emergency support and supplies at this site.

Humboldt County Supervisory Board
When: every Tuesday except the fifth Tuesday of a month at 9 a.m.

• Under its consent program, the board may approve a service agreement with Access Humboldt for cable and video services. The agreement would maintain Access Humboldt’s current functions until May 8, 2024.
• As part of its consent program, the board may approve an agreement with AT&T for Internet access at the Ferndale, Kim Yerton Memorial and Willow Creek library branches.
• As part of its consent program, the board may approve the increase in a capital line for the budget unit of the National Cannabis Eradication / Suppression Program of the Sheriff’s Office.
• As part of its consent agenda, the board may receive an update on local COVID-19 conditions.

• The commission is to hold a public hearing regarding a coastal development permit to develop a class one cycle path on Route 255 in the Manila area.
• The commission is to hold a public hearing regarding various cannabis cultivation sites.
• The commission is to discuss issues related to cannabis licensing, including water and well use, California Environmental Quality Act issues, and electricity consumption.

McKinleyville Community Service District
