The first Unreal Engine 5 game is now on the market

[ad_1]

Fortnite is now powered by Epic’s next-gen Unreal Engine 5 technology, which offers significant improvements to texture, graphics, and effects.

The first UE5 game is now on the market, and unsurprisingly, it’s Fortnite. After all, Epic Games has promised that they will bring Fortnite to the UE5 this year (although it took a lot longer to run).

The big final event of Chapter 2 of the end of Fortnite actually took place in UE5, which explains the good visual boost in the game on Switch and PC, as well as some additional physical additions like weather effects. mad (tornadoes!), sliding combat, web-slinging with Spider-Man’s new slingers, and widespread environmental destruction across the all-new island. It also explains the large multi-gigabyte update with the v19.00 patch, which clicked up to 14.8GB on Switch.

The official 19.00 patch notes can be found below:

BATTLE ROYALE FEATURES

  • With the launch of Chapter 3, Fortnite Battle Royale is adding additional features that we’re bringing to Creative to enhance your experiences (see more below). For more information on what’s happening in Fortnite Battle Royale, visit our What’s New in Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 3 Season 1: Reverse blog post.

THE SQUAD INTERACTS

  • Creative and Battle Royale add the ability for multiple players to interact with a downed player to speed recovery. Got a squad member down? Now two or more party members will dramatically increase pickup speed compared to a single player!

SLIP

  • Descent downhill? Try to slide to increase your speed and escape enemy fire! While sliding, you still have the ability to shoot and build. Hold the crouch button while running to start a slide, whether downhill or not. Creators can add this setting and enable swiping in the My Island settings menu

ROYAL BATTLE ITEMS

  • We’ve added ALL new Battle Royal items to Creative!
  • Ranger Assault Rifle – Built for the distance! The Ranger assault rifle is powerful at medium range and quite capable at long range.
  • MK-Seven Assault Rifle – Built using technology from The Seven, the MK-Seven Assault Rifle is a medium to long range weapon with a high rate of fire. This assault rifle has a sight that you can use while aiming. Line up your target with the red dot on the viewfinder!
  • Striker Pump Shotgun – The Striker Pump Shotgun shoots a lot of pellets and offers high burst damage. Aim … then strike!
  • Auto Shotgun – An automatic ally with heavy firepower. The Auto Shotgun may not deal as much damage as the Striker Pump per shot, but it has a faster rate of fire and reloads two rounds at a time.
  • Stinger SMG – Aptly named, the Stinger SMG deals significant damage to both opponents and structures. It stings at medium range more than you might expect!
  • Handgun – A reliable weapon to have by your side, the Handgun is an accurate weapon that deals high damage at medium range and high headshot damage at close range. Don’t underestimate it!
  • Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper – The Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper deals high damage and can fire three shots per clip. Get a second chance if you don’t get your shot the first time! (And a third … just in case.)
